{"Job Title": "Labor and Delivery Nurse", "Job Summary": "We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team at Cynet Health. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to mothers and newborns during the labor and delivery process.

Responsibilities:

* Assess and monitor patients throughout the labor process, identifying any complications that may arise.
* Monitor contractions and assist patients with breathing techniques, as well as monitor patients on telemetry.
* Perform basic IV and central line skills, as well as phlebotomy skills.
* Administer pain medication as ordered, as well as other medications to address specific medical conditions such as hypertension and diabetes.
* Take and record patient vital signs, ascertaining if there are any problematic issues.
* Read fetal monitors and ascertain if there are any problems with the baby's heart rate.
* Identify and manage life-sustaining physiological functions in unstable patients.
* Check patient's cervix periodically to monitor progression or lack of dilation.
* Ensure patient's bed is kept dry and clean, and clean up bodily fluids expelled before and after the birthing process.
* Contact anesthesia when the patient is ready for an epidural, and contact the delivering physician at the appropriate time.
* Care for patients on Pitocin, MgSO4, and continuous lumbar epidural.
* Ensure patient is in the proper position for delivery and that all monitoring equipment is functioning properly.
* Aid the doctor with drapes, gloves, gowns, etc., and hand the doctor delivery instruments as needed during the birthing process.
* Assist the MD in the Operating Room for C-sections, and monitor patients on telemetry.
* Be proficient in Cardiac Arrest Team Member.
* Provide immediate care of the newborn, including cleaning, weighing, etc.
* Give Apgar scores.

Requirements:

* Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
* Current nursing license, in good standing.
* Minimum of one year Labor and Delivery experience.
* AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN. Fetal Monitoring.
