Job Title: Cloud Capacity Planning & Engineering Lead

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Capacity Planning & Engineering Lead to join our team at NYU Langone Health. This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, capacity planning methodologies, and proactive approach to resource management.

NYU Langone Health is a world-class, patient-centered, integrated academic medical center. We are known for our excellence in clinical care, research, and education. Our organization comprises over 200 locations throughout the New York area, including five inpatient locations, a children's hospital, three emergency rooms, and a level 1 trauma center.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal resource utilization and performance within our cloud infrastructure. This includes conducting regular assessments of cloud resource utilization, CPU, memory, storage, and network across various environments. The ideal candidate will also develop and implement capacity planning strategies to avoid bottlenecks and ensure efficient resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Capacity Planning: Forecast future resource needs based on business growth, application changes, and seasonal fluctuations.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor cloud performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Cost Management: Implement cost-saving measures such as rightsizing instances, optimizing storage, and leveraging reserved instances.
  • Automation: Automate routine capacity management tasks using scripting languages or automation tools.
  • Cloud Migration: Assist in the migration of workloads to the cloud, ensuring optimal resource allocation and performance.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience in cloud infrastructure management with a focus on capacity planning and performance optimization.
  • Certification in cloud technologies (AWS Certified Cloud Architect, Azure Certified Solutions Architect).
  • Experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
Salary Range:

$117,107.95 - $150,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
