Principal Engineer II

ChampionX is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer II to join our team in Sugar Land, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global leader in providing chemistry programs and services, drilling technology, artificial lift solutions, and automation technologies for the upstream and midstream oil and gas industry.
About the Role:The Principal Engineer II will be responsible for developing and supporting the Network Optimization process by analyzing plant capabilities to support the manufacturing of products delivered to the customer at the lowest cost. This involves working with the Network Optimization Manager and Planning organization to achieve the best overall design of products produced, outsourced, and delivered to the market.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze plant capability to accept and produce new products
- Work with plants to define the appropriate economical solution for new product manufacturing, including raw material handling, storage, transfer, and packaging
- Coordinate the preparation of technical packages to be entered into the Global Technology Transfer process
- Participate in Pilot Plant efforts for new product design to align with plant capabilities
- Streamline existing processes and technology platforms
- Contribute and conduct design and engineering of a wide variety of process, and material handling equipment
- Establish and maintain process capabilities metrics to ensure safety, quality, cost, and productivity standards are maintained / exceeded
- Capture work and help maintain and build process standards
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
- 7+ years of engineering experience, at least 5 in chemical manufacturing
- Effective oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Preferred qualifications: prior experience in product development or process development, advanced technical or business degree, project and process management leadership experience, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification, strong background in safety, experience handling FMEA, PHA, PSSR, hands-on experience with statistical analysis
