Position Summary:
We are in search of a meticulous and seasoned Senior Revenue Accountant to enhance our finance department. The successful candidate will be tasked with managing the revenue accounting cycle, ensuring adherence to GAAP and SEC reporting standards, and delivering precise financial data to inform strategic business choices.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Management:
Oversee and execute monthly revenue recognition activities in line with ASC 606. Evaluate and analyze contracts to confirm appropriate revenue recognition practices.
Prepare and assess journal entries and account reconciliations pertinent to revenue and deferred revenue accounts.
Financial Reporting:
Contribute to the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements along with SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K). Work in conjunction with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, supplying necessary documentation and clarifications.
Ensure all revenue-related disclosures are accurate and comprehensive.
Process Enhancement:
Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in revenue accounting and reporting.
Establish and maintain internal controls over revenue accounting processes to ensure compliance with SOX.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and maximize the use of financial systems.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Conduct in-depth analyses of revenue trends and discrepancies, offering insights and recommendations to management.
Generate ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed to support business initiatives and decision-making.
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue.
Team Leadership and Development:
Mentor and guide junior accounting personnel, promoting a culture of ongoing learning and enhancement.
Assist in training team members on revenue recognition policies and procedures.
Lead special projects related to revenue accounting as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
CPA certification is highly preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, ideally within the healthcare sector.
Extensive familiarity with GAAP, ASC 606, and SEC reporting requirements.
Experience in a publicly traded company is essential.
Prior experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance.
Proven capability to interpret complex contracts and determine suitable revenue recognition treatment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various departments.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive and self-driven with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
Familiarity with healthcare regulations and reimbursement models.
Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
