Responsibilities of Registered Nurses (RNs)

  • Administer medications according to physician orders
  • Provide physician-ordered treatments, including:
    • Nutrition via a feeding tube
    • Tracheostomy care
    • Suctioning (nasal, oral, and/or endotracheal)
    • Ventilation care
    • Seizure assessment and treatment

Requirements for Registered Nurses (RNs)

  • Active RN license in Florida
  • Current BLS CPR certification (in-person only)
  • Experience with G-tubes, trach, and ventilation, or a willingness to train
  • TB Skin Test (PPD) or TB Blood Test (QF)
  • Alzheimer's training: Complete a 2 Hour DOEA Approved Course (provided at no cost if needed)
  • Watch a 1-Hour DOEA Alzheimer's Video (free on DOEA website)
