The Operations Director will be responsible for overseeing the management, direction, and coordination of manufacturing operations for the Carson City facility. This role requires a strong leader who can ensure the achievement of production requirements, quality and reliability standards, and on-time delivery at the lowest cost.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for safely manufacturing a quality product while meeting customer specifications and delivery commitments.
- Ensure adherence to process control procedures, operating instructions, and all quality control instructions.
- Formulate long- and short-range strategies for continuous improvements across all plant manufacturing functions.
- Control quality, delivery, cost of production, work-in-process levels, and monitor production through planning.
- Recommend and purchase new equipment for expansion, efficiency, cost reductions, and quality improvement.
- Provide input on the design and installation of equipment for new manufacturing processes.
- Ensure EHS rules are always followed by every employee in the departments.
- Manage operational metrics, including TOC, variable cost, and productivity targets on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Lead plant teams, including hiring, performance evaluations, and talent development.
- Maintain and enhance a team environment and motivate the production workforce.
- Establish and execute annual operating budgets for departments and meet the budget.
- Oversee manufacturing plans and maintain production schedules.
- Control costs of manufacturing, work-in-process inventory, and throughput.
- Oversee allocation of material, manpower, and equipment resources.
- Successful experience in related production operations management.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, relentlessly execute, and deliver results in conformance with action plans.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and adapt to changing situations and priorities easily.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, self-motivated individual who can effectively lead a collaborative team environment.
- Strategic vision for new and future technology to support manufacturing and operational excellence.
- Preferred background and experience with 6S implementation, engineering, and management.
- Proven ability to work hands-on with the team to achieve objectives.
- Strong data analytics and Excel skills.
- Bachelor's degree required; preferably in Industrial, Mechanical, or a related engineering field, or 10+ years experience in manufacturing setting.
- MS or MBA degree is desirable.
- Prefer 7+ years of experience in manufacturing.
- Extensive training in manufacturing processes.
- Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma Certification.
- Ability to move around the production floor frequently, including standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs or ladders as needed throughout the shift.
- Frequently required to lift and move objects up to 35 pounds, such as equipment, tools, or materials.
- Requires manual dexterity for handling tools, equipment, or machines and performing routine inspections and adjustments.
- Must have good vision (with or without correction) for reading documents, monitors, and inspecting products, as well as good hearing for communication in a noisy environment.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and work in various conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and temperature variations.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and other necessary gear depending on the area of the production floor.

Compensation and BenefitsFor informational purposes only, the pay range for this role is $120,000.00/yr to $157,300.00/yr (USD) based on a variety of factors.
This role is eligible to participate in the Company's Executive Bonus Plan. Employees will receive 120 hours of paid time off every year, along with 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are also eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
