Job OverviewA skilled carpenter is required by CEM/ D P Porter to work on various commercial, residential, and medical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures.
Key Responsibilities
  • To read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • To measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
  • To install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, cabinets, and framing.
  • To inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
  • To ensure all work is completed to high standards of quality and safety.
  • To collaborate with other construction professionals, such as electricians and plumbers, to complete projects.
  • To maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a carpenter or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is preferred.
