Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Design Engineer to join our team at Traffic Planning & Design. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in outside contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capital improvement planning, including providing cost estimates, feasibility studies, and developing recommendations and innovative solutions.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic and signal operations analysis.
  • Obtaining, analyzing, and applying PennDOT's Highway Occupancy Permit Design Criteria/procedure.
  • Assisting in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs for projects.
  • Reviewing construction sites to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
  • Serving as on-site project representative.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (required).
  • EIT, FE, (not required, but preferred).
  • Knowledge of CADD Software (MicroStation or AutoCAD or OpenRoad).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Driver's License.
