Key Responsibilities- Data Collection and Analysis: Systematically gather, assess, and interpret health data to promote effective health practices.
- Education and Training: Conduct educational sessions for healthcare personnel under the supervision of the Infection Control Director.
- Surveillance Rounds: Maintain a regular schedule for surveillance activities and address any identified deficiencies.
- Policy Compliance: Collaborate with department leaders to implement policies that align with TJC, OSHA, CDC, CMS, and other regulatory bodies.
- Event Coordination: Organize activities for Infection Control Week, World Hand Hygiene Day, and similar initiatives.
- Audit Management: Perform hand hygiene audits and compile monthly reports on findings.
- Health Liaison: Work with the Employee Health Nurse on staff health matters and provide education on vaccination options.
- Communicable Disease Reporting: Interact with local and state health departments regarding communicable diseases.
- Statistical Reporting: Develop reports and statistical data, calculating infection rates using NHSN recommended methods.
- Construction Support: Assist with Infection Control Risk Assessments for construction or renovation projects and aid in the annual risk assessment and infection control plan development.
- Infection Surveillance: Identify and investigate healthcare-associated infections through ongoing monitoring.
- Data Maintenance: Keep detailed logs of infection surveillance data.
- Staff Education: Serve as a resource for educating staff, patients, and families on infection transmission, hygiene practices, and protective equipment.
- Isolation Precautions: Ensure daily compliance with patient isolation protocols.
- Lab Result Review: Collaborate with the Infection Control Director to review positive laboratory results and monitor central lines and Foley catheters.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other responsibilities as assigned.
- I9 and E-Verify are mandatory for direct candidates; Attestation is required for subcontracted candidates.
- A valid Driver's License or State ID is necessary for all traveling staff.
- Certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, and others as applicable are required.
