The Ombudsman Support Specialist plays a critical role in addressing issues affecting the lives of long-term care residents through facility coverage and complaint investigation. This position is responsible for ensuring the quality of life and quality of care for older and dependent adults.
Responsibilities- Compliance and Investigation: Comply with federal and state requirements and local program procedures, and investigate complaints received in a timely manner.
- Facility Coverage: Provide coverage and support at assigned facilities, ensuring that all complaints are investigated and resolved appropriately.
- Documentation and Data Entry: Ensure accurate documentation and data entry in ODIN, a critical tool for tracking and resolving complaints.
- Team Support: Provide backup and support to other program staff members as needed, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality service delivery.
- Advance Healthcare Directives: Witness the execution of advance healthcare directives in skilled nursing facilities, upholding the rights and dignity of residents.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
- Education and Experience: Possess a thorough understanding of the long-term care system and the rights and concerns of those who live within it. Preference for those with experience in long-term support and services.
- Communication and Problem-Solving: Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to resolve problems effectively.
- Technology and Transportation: Be proficient in using technology to streamline processes and have reliable transportation to visit facilities.
- Physical Demands: Be able to lift 50 pounds and meet the physical demands of the role.
$25 - $27 per hour

ScheduleMonday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with flexibility available after a 90-day review period
