Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter/Paramedic to join our team at the City of Allen. As a Firefighter/Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical services, responding to fire and emergency calls, and performing various duties to protect the lives and property of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical assistance to patients
  • Operate fire and medical equipment and apparatus
  • Perform fire suppression activities and rescue operations
  • Provide patient care and administer advanced life support
  • Maintain fire-fighting and paramedic equipment and fire station property
  • Educate the community on fire safety and first aid procedures
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Texas Commission on Fire Protection Firefighter (Structural) Certification
  • Texas Department of State Health Services Paramedic Certification or License
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment and objects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding position that requires individuals to work in a variety of environments, including emergency situations. The Firefighter/Paramedic must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, see, and complete repetitive motions.
