Job Overview

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of relevant experience, including military service, in the maintenance and servicing of generators ranging from 8.5kW to 1Meg. EGSA certification is advantageous.

Applicants must hold a valid driver's license.

Key Competencies:

  • Engines, including both natural gas and diesel
  • Transfer switches, both manual and automatic
  • Solid state, microprocessor, and PLC engine and generator controllers
  • Load bank testing

At a minimum, candidates should have a solid understanding of electrical systems and circuitry, along with some familiarity with diesel engines.

Candidates are expected to provide their own tools, be capable of lifting up to 100lbs, and be available for overtime work.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Service, repair, modify, diagnose, and rebuild standby power generators
  • Conduct failure analysis and provide emergency field service and repairs for clients
  • Service various brands of power generation equipment
  • Operate and maintain the company service vehicle and manage parts inventory
  • Inspect and repair all supporting systems, including fuel, cooling, and electrical systems
  • Operate load banks and record instrumentation data
  • Ensure the availability of necessary tools
  • Clean, inspect, and assess the reusability of used components
  • Stay updated on product changes, specifications, and enhancements
  • Document all repair, maintenance, and estimates related to the aforementioned duties

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

High School diploma; technical training in generator, electrical, and diesel engine systems, or three years of experience in a related field.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $40.00 per hour
