Job Summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in the Net Patient Service Revenue (NPSR) department. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting related to patient service revenue, ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition, and calculating the estimated NPSR for Emory Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with analysis for Net Patient Service Revenue for Emory Healthcare
  • Oversee the financial reporting related to patient service revenue, ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition
  • Calculate the estimated NPSR for Emory Healthcare
  • Work closely with hospital operations, clinical departments, and the finance team to support the financial reporting associated with net patient service revenue
  • Conduct detailed financial analyses to monitor revenue performance, identify trends, and develop insights to improve NPSR
  • Develop and review year-end audit documentation, including detailed schedules and analysis to support financial statements
  • Develop control procedures and assist in the development of new procedures to improve internal control measures
  • Work with external and internal auditors to interpret schedules and resolve discrepancies
  • Provide and implement recommendations to improve efficiency of reporting practices
  • Prepare, develop, and monitor the budget and compliance with fiscal constraints related to NPSR
  • Develop and review information and analysis for long-range financial and cash flow forecasting
  • Review and analyze data trends in NPSR
  • Enhance and improve analysis to determine the impact of payer mix and changes to operations on NPSR
  • Develop recommendations to management
  • Identify and review analysis involving new business initiatives and models NPSR impacts
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures related to NPSR reporting
  • Create recommendations on policy issues to maintain compliance with regulations and guidelines
  • Enhance and implement procedures consistent with established policies
  • Review, revise, and communicate guidelines to ensure compliance
  • Supervise and analyze current policies and procedures and assess effectiveness
  • Oversee and manage special projects
  • Oversee the preparation of special impact studies and other financial surveys and questionnaires
  • Ensure professional development and attend educational in-services as appropriate
  • Participate in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments
  • Review, prepare and analyze statistical reports, financial statements, and supporting schedules for management
  • Review and analyze reports on actual and budgeted financial information
  • Develop assumptions and historical costs with leadership
  • Develop methodology and approach for understanding impact of new programs or projects; analyze variances on returns
  • Oversee and review reports on the activity of programs
  • Identify, develop, and implement methods for improving reporting efficiency
  • Identify requirements and develop reports required by state and federal agencies and ensure compliance
  • Review third party reporting requirements; maintain compliance with all regulations
  • Analyze monthly financial performance relative to budget and prior periods
  • Provide insights for variances in a narrative format that concisely and accurately describes the situation
  • Provide guidance and direction to professional staff
  • Perform related responsibilities as required
Requirements
  • 6 years related experience required, preferably in healthcare with a MBA or CPA preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Epic, Stratajazz, PeopleSoft, SQL, Power BI, EPSI and Kodiak (RCA) preferred
  • A bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or technology related field required
