Position Overview:
This role is based in our Seattle, WA office and focuses on traditional labor law, with occasional responsibilities related to California workplace regulations as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of Management Labor Relations, including:
- Addressing unfair labor practice claims at the National Labor Relations Board ("NLRB")
- Conducting research and drafting on management labor relations matters;
- Representing management during NLRB elections;
- Providing legal counsel to employers on union organizing, corporate campaigns, card check, and neutrality agreements;
- Negotiating and advising on collective bargaining agreements;
- Handling grievance and arbitration processes;
- Securing mass picketing injunctions;
- Offering legal guidance on protected concerted activities and other issues under the National Labor Relations Act ("NLRA");
- Delivering management training on labor relations; and
- Advising management during union work stoppages.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA Accredited Law School
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Traditional Labor Law, specifically in labor relations
- Admission to the Washington State Bar
- Familiarity with current enforcement techniques from state and federal agencies
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous but not mandatory
- Willingness to travel for business as required
Compensation and Benefits:
The anticipated salary range for this position in Washington is between $153,500 and $185,000, with eligibility for annual bonuses. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other legal factors.
