Under the guidance of the Chief Diagnostic Physicist/Radiation Safety Officer, you will oversee radiation safety protocols and ensure the accurate calibration and operation of diagnostic imaging devices across various departments.
Primary Duties:

  1. Collaborate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Radiation Safety Program, including policies, procedures, audits, and exposure assessments.
  2. Perform diagnostic evaluations of imaging equipment at designated intervals and contribute to the assessment of emerging technologies.
  3. Deliver essential radiation safety training to staff and medical professionals.
  4. Manage radiation measurement instruments and maintain inventories of radioactive materials.
  5. Inform patients, medical staff, and employees about their radiation exposure levels as necessary.
  6. Investigate incidents involving radiation or radioactive materials and compile reports for review and compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Required Experience:
  • 3 - 5 years
  • Required Education:
  • Master's Degree in Radiation or Medical Physics
  • Required Field of Expertise:
  • Physics, Medical Physics, Engineering, Applied Health Physics, or a related physical science
  • Required Certification:
  • American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiological Physics; or American Board of Medical Physics in Diagnostic Imaging Physics; or Board eligible-certification to be achieved within 3 years of employment
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Light physical effort (ability to lift/carry up to 10 lbs)
  • Frequent prolonged standing/walking
  • Lifting of supplies/equipment
  • Manual dexterity and mobility
  • Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
