Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in daily commissioning meetings, focusing on:
  • Preparation of equipment pre-start-up and start-up protocols; Development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs); Comprehensive commissioning documentation.
  • Create commissioning test protocols and reports; Maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and other tracking tools for commissioning projects; Draft detailed reports that encompass recommendations for optimizing facility operations, functional checklists, deficiency lists, and equipment operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Review design specifications, drawings, equipment submissions, and other relevant documentation related to commissioning.
  • Conduct integrated system testing and load bank testing; Compile results from all testing procedures.
  • Develop and implement functional tests for various systems, including electrical distribution networks, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and backup generators.
  • Prepare commissioning plans and adhere to the company's quality control processes and procedures.
  • Assist in managing external resources; Schedule and lead periodic commissioning meetings; Participate in construction and coordination meetings as necessary.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, equipment suppliers, and owner representatives as required; Execute project assignments; Interface with project contractors, vendors, and testing technicians; Engage with all departments within the company, including engineering and design.
  • Verify test report outcomes; Provide support for field troubleshooting of commissioned equipment as needed; Possess field experience with Power Quality Analyzers, Power Disturbance Analyzers, data loggers, and related testing equipment.

Qualifications:

  • 4-10+ years of experience with Electrical Power Systems.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering is advantageous.
  • Experience in commissioning enterprise data centers, colocation facilities, and hyperscale organizations.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Experience in complex facilities or mission-critical projects is a significant advantage.
  • Prior experience in Data Center or Mission Critical environments is essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required due to the documentation and client interaction involved in this role.
  • Experience in electrical equipment testing within critical facilities.
  • Prior experience conducting Level 1-5 Commissioning.
  • Basic knowledge of systems design for various projects.
  • Military experience is a plus, particularly in roles related to Electrical/Mechanical fields.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
