Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

PrideStaff is currently seeking a skilled 3rd Shift Ammonia Refrigeration Technician with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• Perform repairs and maintenance on Refrigeration and HVAC systems, ensuring all equipment is inspected and compliant with PSM and RMP regulations.
• Conduct both routine and emergency maintenance on various systems, including boilers, air compressors, condensers, and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Execute inspections for Mechanical Integrity of Ammonia Refrigeration Systems in accordance with MTS and IIAR Bulletin 109 standards.
• Possess a thorough understanding of refrigeration cycles, control valves, and ammonia system piping to ensure safe service and repairs.
• Interpret technical drawings and schematics effectively.
• Provide training and guidance to team members as part of the Refrigeration/Utility training initiative.
• Utilize construction and fabrication skills as required.
• Ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance tasks and adherence to mechanical integrity protocols for ammonia systems.
• Operate and repair various equipment, including refrigeration valves, electric motors, compressors, and boilers.
• Develop and implement corrective action work orders.
• Monitor and uphold safety standards and practices within the workplace.
• Actively participate in PSM/RMP Programs and emergency response initiatives.
• Maintain accurate shift records and reporting.
• Basic computer skills are necessary.

Possess refrigeration trade skills with relevant certifications, the ability to manage multiple tasks, a solid understanding of control circuits, troubleshooting capabilities, and basic computer skills for record-keeping.

RETA certification as a Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator is highly desirable. A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with Hazmat Certification. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Ammonia Refrigeration is preferred, as well as 2 years of experience with Boilers and Compressed Air.
