Job Summary

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team in Fort Lee, New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate and quality diagnostic studies using vascular ultrasound equipment.
  • Teach and assist in training of students and new technologists.
  • Interact with referring physicians, new technologists, and students to ensure seamless communication.
  • Review diagnostic findings with Tech/Med Director to ensure high-quality results.
  • Perform a variety of studies per day, including vascular ultrasounds and plethysmographic testing.
  • Stock supplies and linen as needed to maintain a well-organized workspace.
  • Follow Vascular Lab workflow to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Provide excellent patient care and render high-quality results.
  • As needed, suggest and perform additional pertinent studies based on findings of initial examinations or patient presentations.
  • Provide initial preliminary interpretation of diagnostic findings.
  • Determine which studies should be performed at the bedside based on patient medical condition.
  • Independently perform vascular studies using a variety of equipment, including Plethysmographic devices.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required.
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT, RVS) sonographer with a minimum of 1 year of clinical ultrasound experience involving venous, carotid, arterial, and abdominal testing.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Knowledge of performance pulse volume recordings, segmental pressures, and Doppler waveform analysis or completion of CAAHEP vascular sonography program.
  • Extensive knowledge of ultrasound physics and instrumentation principles, vascular technological test modifications, anatomy, and physical exam.
  • Proficiency in operation of PC and use of Vascular database LX and Atrium.
  • Knowledge in all diagnostic duplex ultrasound procedures performed within the department and ultrasound-guided procedures.
