We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Stryten Energy. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as developing and implementing health and safety programs to prevent hazards and injuries.
Key Responsibilities- Compliance and Regulatory Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, laws, and industry standards.
- Health and Safety Program Development: Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety programs to educate employees and prevent hazards, risks, and injuries.
- Facility and Maintenance Support: Support all facility and maintenance operations, troubleshoot and diagnose issues, and make minor repairs where feasible.
- Vendor Management: Maintain relations with contracted vendors, assist them as needed, and ensure they meet our health and safety standards.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting: Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning and execution.
- Department Budget Management: Maintain and work within department budget, prepare and maintain analytical reports and data tracking.
- Collaboration and Communication: Partner with manufacturing supervisors to review and improve environmental health and safety practices, ensure adoption by employees, and communicate hazards and risks to supervisors.
- Emergency Response and Training: Perform emergency response duties as required by the emergency response plan, participate in practice drills, plan reviews, and EHS department safety training programs.
- Inspections and Audits: Perform EHS-related inspections and audits, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Regulatory Agency Relations: Represent the company in a positive working relationship with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, and property insurance representatives.
- Administrative Duties: Complete any administrative duties assigned, including safety audits, fire extinguisher checks, and other tasks as required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree in Environmental or Safety Science preferred.
- Experience: 5-10 years' experience in a manufacturing and maintenance environment.
- Skills and Knowledge: Some knowledge of HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and maintenance systems; ability to read prints, interpret operating and maintenance instructions, and work with others.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, work in different climates, and lift up to 50 pounds.
