Job Summary

The UMC Health System is seeking a highly skilled Staff Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in optimizing patient outcomes by providing the safest and highest quality of care to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Review and process medication orders in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and adherence to federal and state laws.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide seamless, multidisciplinary care, including identifying and mitigating Adverse Drug Events (ADEs).
  • Provide medication information and education to healthcare professionals, including appropriate therapy, drug compatibilities, interactions, and side effects.
  • Supervise the daily workflow and performance of pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional, ethical, and effective working relationship with all employees, nursing staff, and the general public.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
  • Registration and licensure as a registered pharmacist by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
