Healthcare Professional for Disability Assessments
1 week ago
We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.
This role involves reviewing medical records electronically through a web portal and conducting focused, in-person physical exams on each Veteran. The findings from these exams will be documented electronically through the web portal.
The Nurse Practitioner does not make disability determinations, which are made by the United States Veterans Administration.
This position performs Disability Assessments on 3-5 Veterans per day, with a schedule of Monday to Friday (8am-4pm). This is an in-person position, requiring regular interaction with patients.
To succeed in this role, you must be interested in performing Independent Medical Assessments, able to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete questionnaires and form medical opinions. You should also possess strong time management skills, be able to stay on task, and meet requirements.
In addition to a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license, you must be proficient in using a computer. A background in healthcare, particularly in assessment and documentation, is highly valued.
This is an excellent opportunity to serve the Veteran community, working with a set schedule during normal business hours and never being on call. All work is performed in a clinical setting.
We offer a competitive salary of $60+ per hour, along with training and continued support provided. Health insurance options are available, and a computer is supplied. With a typical day involving 3 to 5 patients, you will have ample opportunity to develop your skills and make a positive impact.
