Position Overview:
The Grain Bagger plays a crucial role in the efficient handling and packaging of wheat germ, ensuring that products are prepared according to a predetermined schedule. This position operates during the 3rd shift, with hours from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the handling of wheat germ in accordance with the established production schedule.
- Accurately assess the requirements for wheat germ and determine the appropriate silos or hoppers for optimal production flow.
- Adjust blending controls and hoses to ensure the correct mixture and storage solutions are utilized.
- Maintain precise and organized records of the types and quantities of wheat germ blended for daily inventory tracking.
- Oversee the weighing, blending, packaging, and labeling of the final product.
- Engage in effective communication with team members on a daily basis.
- Conduct cleanup of bagging and storage areas to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in the monthly inventory of finished products and continuously monitor stock levels.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
- Competence in monitoring both product quality and equipment functionality.
- Familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Must be available to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- On-the-job training will be provided.
- Safety training is mandatory and will be offered.
Working Conditions:
- This role involves physical activities such as lifting, pulling, and standing on concrete surfaces.
- Exposure to environmental factors such as noise, dust, and temperature variations.
- Ability to work in extreme temperature conditions, ranging from hot to cold.
- Must be capable of entering confined spaces and adhering to safety protocols.
- Climbing ladders and lifting weights up to 50 pounds is required.
