We are seeking a skilled Welder Prep./Helper to join our team at AGM Container Controls, Inc. This is a regular position that requires assisting our skilled welders in producing high-quality prototypes and assemblies.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Welding Process: Assist our welders by reading assembly prints, weld maps, and welding process documents to set up prototypes and subassemblies using GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) or TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas).
- Operate Tools Effectively: Use a variety of hand and machine tools, including saws, grinders, and drills, to create components that meet our quality standards.
- Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure all products conform to ISO standards and company quality control requirements.
- Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with the Welding Line Supervisor and report on your progress, while maintaining an organized and clean workspace.
- Prioritize Safety: Follow all safety procedures and promptly report any unsafe conditions to supervisors.
- Experience & Education: A two-year technical certificate from an accredited technical school is greatly preferred. One to two years of relevant training and/or direct work experience is required. A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
- Mechanical Aptitude: You should have a knack for working with tools and interpreting assembly prints.
- Communication Skills: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective teamwork and documentation.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly and 150 pounds occasionally (with assistance), and perform various physical tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- This position requires an employee to safely operate and maintain welding equipment and forklifts.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to, and may come in direct contact with potentially hazardous chemicals or materials.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud; must be able to focus and communicate effectively in a fast-paced, loud manufacturing environment.
