Job Description

Candle-lite Company, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Regulatory Compliance Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the development and maintenance of systems and processes for the continuity and growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide review and support to product development, brand & marketing, legal, and other departments from a regulatory compliance perspective and a product stewardship.
  • Ensure the coordination and effective communication with global compliance team, new product & program leads.
  • Analyze, understand, and communicate risks associated with raw materials and products to internal stakeholders such as R&D, purchasing, receiving and brand & marketing teams.
  • Understand and manage Safety Data Sheets and related hazard label content for a local and global product.
  • Actively support the design and implementation of tools and systems to assure compliance with local and global chemical control legislation.
  • Coordinate and assist in special projects as assigned, e.g., periodic reports of REACH, EPA Environmental and pesticide establishment, fragrance CMR, OSHA air survey, non-candle consumer product testing, PCN submission, CLP labeling process, Tier ll, SARA, RCRA and FIFRA min risk pesticide etc.
  • Update and maintain regulatory/safety assessment reports and vendor supplied raw materials safety data.
  • Handling product registration through WERCSmart, Smarter Sorting and other global authority portals.
  • Manage, support and maintain existing and new SDS(s) required for company products and raw materials in production. Periodic audit for SDS stations throughout the manufacturing plant.
  • Coordinate and handle RCRA hazard and universal waste classifications and disposal processes.

Requirements:

  • Preferred experience in chemical and/or discrete manufacturing under a formal product regulatory discipline.
  • Must be knowledgeable in 2 or more of the following areas: Haz-com program and associated systems, global chemical inventory and substance notification, OSHA, REACH, CLP, GHS, consumer product review and labeling, JDE system, new product assessment, composition of chemically formulated consumer products, chemical wet testing, fragrance ingredients.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on streamline regulatory and compliance functions and processes.

Working Conditions:

  • Stands and/or walks 80-90% on a concrete floor, sits 50-60% of the work time. Exercises considerable visual acuity during the manufacturing process.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds without assistance and 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Must have precise coordinated movements of the fingers of both hands to grasp and manipulate small objects.
  • Must make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, and reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Must be comfortable working in a loud, highly fragrant industrial environment.
