Job Title: Field Mechanic

Job Summary:

The Field Mechanic is a key member of our team, responsible for servicing, maintaining, and ensuring the proper functioning of hydraulic fracturing equipment pumps and pneumatic systems. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Service, maintain, and ensure proper function of hydraulic fracturing equipment pumps and pneumatic systems
  • Perform basic mechanic duties, including filter changes, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance
  • Install and/or replace new or reconditioned repair parts and create work orders for all discovery work and performed repairs
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including ordering parts and generating QC daily reports
  • Bring personally owned tools and an appropriate method of transporting them to each shift
  • Perform general housekeeping of parts trailers, service trucks, and work areas
  • Immediately communicate failures to the Field Mechanic Lead or Supervisor
  • Perform all duties assigned by the Field Mechanic Lead
  • Safely drive a company vehicle day or night, on all road types, and in all weather conditions
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Follow HSE procedures on location, including observing red zone boundaries, performing lock out tag out, and other safety protocols
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months' mechanical experience, required
  • A Technical Associates degree or certificate is preferred and may be considered in lieu of experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent, required
  • Maintaining a current, valid driver's license and a clean driving record, required
  • Must possess personally owned tools and have an appropriate way to transport them to and from the trucks
  • Must have basic hydraulic fracturing equipment knowledge, including location of battery switches, power up and power down, and understanding of starting procedures
  • Must understand hydraulic fracturing pump and blender hydration operations
  • Must have basic knowledge of blender components, including identifying discharge pumps and suction pumps
  • Must be familiar with electronic instrumentation and automation equipment
  • Clear communication skills, able to effectively interact with team members, leads, and supervisors
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications, Power Apps, and able to quickly learn other work-related software
  • Safety conscious, observant, and willing to use stop work authority when necessary
  • Must be physically able to safely perform duties during a 12+ hour work shift that will include days, nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Must be physically able to safely perform duties in all weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold
  • Must be physically able to remain alert and safe during exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles, and moderate to loud noises
  • Must be physically able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shift
  • Must be physically able to safely lift or move 50 lbs. without assistance
