Position Title:
Physician Advisor - Utilization Management

Location:
Yonkers, NY (with potential for future Hybrid/Remote flexibility)

Compensation Range:
$200,000 - $225,000

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct reviews for medical necessity
  • Assess the clinical appropriateness of care provided
  • Carry out evaluations of resource utilization
  • Facilitate discussions between peers and payors' medical directors
  • Ensure that patient documentation accurately reflects illness severity and the rationale for admission
  • Serve as a resource for clinical, care management, and administrative staff
  • Engage in compliance initiatives while considering regulatory, legal, and contractual factors in daily operations
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at improving healthcare efficiency and reducing costs through data analysis
Qualifications:
  • Possess a valid Medical Doctor License and registration in New York
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in inpatient acute care
  • Conduct peer-to-peer discussions to substantiate admission medical necessity
  • Familiarity with Medicare coverage criteria, CMS's two midnight rule, and associated regulatory requirements
  • Experience in population health management, clinical integration, cost containment, and managed care
