About the Role:

Dewberry is seeking a highly skilled Senior Drainage Engineer to join our Transportation design practice in Orlando, FL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting our clients with strong organizational and technical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Engineer-of-Record, Senior Engineer, or Project Manager on Transportation projects
  • Perform and collaborate on drainage analyses with other Drainage staff
  • Prepare drainage plans, reports, construction quantities, cost estimates, and specifications for transportation projects
  • Perform QC reviews of design documentation and plans prepared by internal staff and other consultants
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with other professionals and subconsultants to successfully deliver quality projects within budget and on schedule
  • Oversee project design activities, supervise production efforts, and mentor less-experienced engineers
  • Meet and build strong working relationships with clients and permitting agencies
  • Prepare marketing materials and serve as Drainage Lead during project pursuit presentations
  • Perform other management, marketing, and professional networking activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Master's degree in a water resources field is a plus)
  • 7+ years of relevant FDOT drainage/water resources design experience
  • Valid Florida Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred, or the ability to acquire it within 6 months after hire
  • Experience with FDOT drainage design criteria, standards, and procedures
  • Experience with permitting requirements of Florida Water Management Districts, FDEP, and USACOE
  • Experience with ICPR, ASAD, SUDA, MicroStation, Geopak, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, Civil3D, CADD, ORD, GIS, or similar software
  • The ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
  • Be a self-motivated professional who is accountable to meeting individual and project goals
