Position Overview:
Under the guidance of a supervising physician, the Physician Assistant will engage in medical practice through conducting physical assessments, diagnosing and treating health conditions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, educating patients on preventive healthcare, and prescribing medications as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive patient histories and physical assessments.
- Coordinating and delivering medical care for assigned patients in an outpatient environment, including diagnosis establishment, care plan development, and follow-up management.
- Evaluating patients to identify the need for additional healthcare services.
- Requesting diagnostic imaging and other specialized tests such as MRI and CT scans.
- Implementing health promotion and disease prevention initiatives, along with patient education.
- Collecting laboratory specimens as required.
- Arranging ancillary services, including but not limited to: Pharmacy, Social Services, and Rehabilitation therapies.
- Prescribing medications and writing orders as needed.
- Providing education to patients and their families when appropriate.
- Documenting patient progress notes and summaries in medical records, along with writing orders for assigned patients.
- Obtaining and documenting informed consent for treatments and procedures under the PA's responsibility.
