Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the General Accounting team, which is primarily responsible for the month-end financial closing process, including the majority of journal entries, accruals/estimates, and account reconciliations.
  • Act as the primary owner of master data in PeopleSoft, collaborating with the Financial Reporting Manager to synchronize with consolidation and planning tools.
  • Review and approve high-risk journal entries.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors.
  • Contribute significantly to identifying and implementing efficiencies in the financial closing process to enhance speed and accuracy.
  • Manage additional responsibilities as required, including project and system implementation support.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with progressive responsibilities directly related to the financial closing process; additional senior experience is valued.
  • Experience in a large public company is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A leader who fosters teamwork.
  • Ability to delegate effectively.
  • Capability to envision future possibilities beyond current practices.
  • Proven track record of executing and driving project plans to completion, including influencing and managing teams through change.
  • In-depth experience with modern ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, along with consolidation and financial planning tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with internal personnel and auditors.
