Position Overview:
A Quality Assurance Specialist is sought to join a leading provider of industrial and environmental machinery. This role focuses on conducting thorough inspections, enhancing quality measures, documenting discrepancies, advising production teams, ensuring equipment calibration, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives.
Location: Compton, California
Job Type: Contract
Compensation: $38 per hour
Work Hours: 8 AM to 4 PM
Education Requirement: Associate Degree
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in daily meetings to discuss quality-related topics.
- Lead the Quality program and document non-conformances using Quality Quest.
- Utilize Quality Quest to pinpoint areas needing attention.
- Assist in reviewing and training on relevant policies with appropriate documentation.
- Guide production teams in determining the status of parts (usable, requires repair, or scrap).
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to uphold industry-standard assembly and machining practices.
- Examine repair routers to ensure compliance with established processes.
Essential Skills:
- Self-driven with the capability to work autonomously and make immediate decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging effectively at all organizational levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience in reviewing, interpreting, and conveying technical specifications.
- Ability to establish credibility and influence across various professional levels.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical/Trade school or Associate degree (A.A.) is preferred, but not mandatory.
- 3+ years of experience in machining, assembly/repair, quality control, or a related field within a manufacturing context.
- Capability to read and interpret blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
- Able to function in a matrix environment and lead without direct authority.
- Understanding of material planning and shop floor scheduling.
