Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Echo Technician to join our team on a 13-week contract in New Orleans, Louisiana. As an Echo Technician, you will work under the direction of supervising physicians in the Non-Invasive Cardiology Lab, preparing patients for examinations, performing 2-dimensional echoes, M-mode, and Doppler studies, and assisting with the training of residents, fellows, faculty, and other physicians.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A successful completion of an accredited training course in cardiac technology
  • A successful completion of an accredited training course in cardiac ultrasound
  • Interpretation skills to facilitate a comprehensive examination and an accurate preliminary interpretation
  • A cardiac echocardiography technology program (graduate of cardiac echocardiography technology program)
Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities as an Echo Technician will include:

  • Preparing patients for examinations and performing 2-dimensional echoes, M-mode, and Doppler studies
  • Preparing and maintaining records of patient echo studies
  • Assisting supervising physicians with the training of residents, fellows, faculty, and other physicians
  • Maintaining knowledge of multiple echocardiography platforms and technology
