Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Christus Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Operating Room department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients, maintaining aseptic techniques and actively monitoring situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
  • Provide comfort and support for pre-operative patients by demonstrating sensitivity to patient care and privacy.
  • Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite, positioning patients according to the type of surgery.
  • Identify and care for biological specimens, preparing the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to type of case.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of the Surgical Technology program required.
  • 2 or more years of experience preferred.
  • BLS required.
  • Certification of Surgical Technologist from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required.
