Job Overview

Amtec Enterprise is seeking a skilled Precision Machinist to enhance our machine shop operations by performing meticulous deburring on small, high-tolerance components. Candidates with experience in an Aerospace setting and a keen eye for detail are highly preferred. Proficiency in utilizing standard machinery and tools, such as bench grinders, Dremels, and deburring knives, is essential.

Position: Precision Machinist

Compensation: $20 - $24 based on experience

Work Schedule: 1st Shift - 5:30 am - 2:00 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate multiple production machines, adhering to established blueprints, sketches, and route sheets.
  • Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and minimizing costs.
  • Perform various machining operations, including cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, and reaming, ensuring adherence to pre-planned processes.
  • Make necessary adjustments to machinery and report any malfunctions or issues for timely resolution.
  • Conduct operations such as tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring with precision.
  • Align and secure components using standard fixtures and established techniques.
  • Adjust feeds, speeds, and cutting depths to produce quality parts in accordance with documentation.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, and tool marks from machined components, handling both simple and complex parts.
  • Inspect components for compliance with specifications using various measuring instruments and magnification tools.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and accuracy, adhering to division-specific requirements.
  • Engage in statistical process control (SPC) activities as required by the division.
  • Actively participate in lean initiatives by identifying improvement opportunities and applying relevant concepts and tools.
  • Comply with all company policies and safety regulations while maintaining an organized work environment.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of relevant machining experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions.
  • Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
  • Proven ability to implement lean initiatives effectively.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a team setting.
  • Familiarity with job-specific software applications and self-service systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to team objectives, performance feedback, and personal development.
