Job Summary

This role is responsible for maintaining and operating the produce department, ensuring that all merchandise is trimmed and prepared according to company and department standards. The successful candidate will contribute to the financial best interest of the store by completing all duties in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cut, slice, and prepare produce as directed, following established procedures for culling, trimming, and storing product.
  • Weigh, package, and label products, handling spoiled or damaged products per established guidelines.
  • Properly fill, rotate, and merchandise produce and floral shelves, cases, and displays, assisting with unloading deliveries and stacking product in coolers.
  • Notify the Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
  • Practice suggestive selling techniques with customers, having familiarity with all products carried in the department.
  • Maintain clean, attractive, and well-stocked departments, following all PPE and Safety Guidelines, Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations, and Guest Experience Guidelines.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma (GED) preferred.
  • One year of retail or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents, with basic mathematical skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work with fresh fruits and vegetables without negative allergic consequences.
Physical Requirements

May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods and may bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
