Meat Cutter Specialist

The Meat Cutter Specialist is responsible for meeting daily production needs and quality standards in meat cutting and preparation of meat.

This role involves receiving, stocking, cutting, grinding, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and merchandising meat department products. Additionally, the Meat Cutter Specialist orders and stocks prepackaged deli items and frozen food products related to the meat department.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the meat department, including cutting meat, and be able to operate equipment such as grinders, pallet jacks, saws, scales, and registers.

• Locate and remove meat portions from the walk-in freezer/refrigerator and transport them to the cutting room
• Use knives and band saws to prepare specific cuts of meat from larger portions
• Set machines for proper pricing and labeling of meat to be wrapped
• Arrange packages on display and remove out-of-date or damaged packages
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment
• Operate an electric tow motor to move pallets from the receiving area to storage areas
• Instruct and supervise Apprentice Meat Cutters as required
