Job Description and Duties

This position is part of the California Correctional Health Care Services team, providing mental health services to inmates in correctional facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform psychiatric evaluations and participate in treatment planning and case reviews
  • Prescribe medications and provide crisis intervention and psychotherapy
  • Provide consultations and training in treatment approaches to clinical and custody staff
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to provide comprehensive care
Requirements:
  • Eligibility for a Training and Development assignment
  • Minimum qualifications, including possession of a medical degree and licensure to practice psychiatry
  • Ability to work in a correctional setting and provide care to inmates
