Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with daily maintenance tasks and ensure that all personnel wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies when lifting or moving heavy objects.
- Supervise the day-to-day maintenance functions of assigned personnel and assist in developing procedures for performing daily maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing maintenance assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
- Submit accident/incident reports to the director on the shift in which they occurred and maintain material safety data sheets (MSDSs) for hazardous chemicals in the maintenance department.
- Ensure that containers of hazardous chemicals in the department are properly labeled and stored, and that all maintenance personnel follow established policies governing the use of labels and MSDSs.
- Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to the Director and maintain established infection control and universal precautions practices when performing maintenance procedures.
- Recommend equipment and supply needs to the director and ensure that appropriate personal protective equipment used in the handling of infectious materials is available and easily accessible to maintenance personnel.
- High School or Equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience as Maintenance Technician in a skilled nursing facility preferred, but not required
