  • Fingerprinting citizens for various applications
  • Supervising jail visitors
  • Responsible for inmate mail system
  • Washing laundry
  • Responsible for cleaning facility
  • Preparing incident and activity reports
  • Providing VIN inspections
  • Booking, processing, fingerprinting, photographing, classifying, searching, and releasing inmates

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a high school diploma/GED, be a U.S. citizen, and meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years. You will also need to pass a rigorous fitness test, complete the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy's 8-week long Detention Officer Basic Training, and pass an oral interview examination. Additionally, you will be subject to and must pass an eye-detect test and have a Wyoming Driver's License with an acceptable MVR.

Please note that applicants are subject to a full background check, including criminal history, psychological testing, and medical exam.
