Installation Specialist

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret installation specifications for various construction projects, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment, applying technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
  • Design, identify, and requisition necessary parts for low- and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and grounding, adhering to customer specifications and standards.
  • Create comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Update location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' locations, maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Utilize hand tools required for transmission equipment installation, including crimpers, wire wrap guns, strippers, wrenches, hammers, drills, and stencils, ensuring proper usage and maintenance.
  • Transport tools and materials to job sites, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to lower-level installers on individual job progress, material shortages, customer complaints, and unsafe or inoperable tools, promoting a culture of safety and quality.
  • Familiarize yourself with customer installation and quality standards, including IP72202, to ensure compliance and excellence.
  • Conduct self-quality checks of all job responsibilities prior to sign-off, maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.
  • Assemble, modify, and install overhead ironwork, relay racks, transmission equipment, and cable ladder, adhering to technical specifications and safety protocols.
  • Run power, signal, and ground cables to interconnect equipment, ensuring proper connections and safety.
  • Cut and terminate single, multi-strand, and Coax cable with power lugs, multi-pin connectors, and BNC connectors, stenciling installed equipment and terminations.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers, supervisors, and coworkers, promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Maintain accurate departmental paperwork as requested, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety and security requirements, following protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and hazard-free work area.
  • Dress appropriately for the job environment, adhering to company dress code policies.
  • Develop proficiency in all phases of installation and testing of equipment, enabling progression in the business and career growth.
  • Review installation specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
