About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Server Representative to join our team at Georgia Blue. As a Server Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences to our guests, ensuring that every visit is memorable and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Table Preparation
    • Prepare tables by laying out silverware, refilling condiments, and performing other preparation tasks.
  • Menu Knowledge
    • Stay up-to-date on current menu choices, specialties, and menu deviations.
    • Know when the kitchen staff is running low on items and communicate this to guests.
  • Guest Interaction
    • Present menus and suggest dishes to guests.
    • Assist guests in selecting drinks and inform them about food preparation details.
    • Communicate specific customer needs to the cooks.
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Display teamwork and deliver items to guests in a timely manner.
    • Fulfill customer needs and offer desserts and drinks.
    • Remove courses, replenish utensils, and refill glasses.
  • Guest Recognition
    • Learn guests' names, occupations, and favorite drinks to create a personalized experience.
  • Wine Service
    • Properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
  • Cash Handling
    • Obtain revenues, issue receipts, accept payments, and return change.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance
    • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by a supervisor.
  • Flexibility
    • Filling in for absent staff as needed.
    • Assisting with special events as needed.
  • Appearance and Grooming
    • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
  • Product Knowledge
    • Understand and communicate products available at the restaurant.
  • Cooking Skills
    • Have some familiarity with basic cooking skills.

Requirements

  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience
    • Previous serving experience strongly preferred.
    • Outgoing personality, positive attitude, and strong oral communication skills.
    • Positive interpersonal skills required.
    • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, service procedures, and function.
    • Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.

Working Conditions

  • May be indoor or outdoor setting depending on outlet.
  • Varied weather conditions are expected.
  • Will work near moving or mechanical parts.
  • May work near toxic/caustic chemicals and with fumes or airborne particles.
  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.

Appearance/Uniform Standard

  • Black long sleeve button-down shirt with a solid bright-colored tie (sleeves may be rolled) tucked in with a black belt, black non-denim pants/slacks (without holes or frayed edges), server apron, black crew socks, and closed-toed black slip-resistant shoes.
  • Any undershirt must be short-sleeved and white.
  • No facial piercings.
  • Men must keep facial hair well groomed.
  • All hair long enough to touch the shoulder must be pulled back and restrained.
