    • Educational Background:

      • Required: Valid California RN license; BLS certification from the American Heart Association
      • Preferred: Certification in a specialty area
      • Must obtain ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card within three months of hire; Oncology Nurse Certification within three years for applicable hires.
    • Experience:
      • Preferred: Background in specialty areas or higher acuity settings, or completion of an internship program/course.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Adheres to the Code of Conduct and compliance policies, taking action to address compliance concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Conducts comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs, utilizing age-specific data.
      • Demonstrates proficient assessment skills appropriate to the patient's age, based on scientific principles.
      • Completes initial assessments and required documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
      • Performs ongoing assessments, including observations, physical examinations, lab/test results, and patient responses to interventions.
      • Engages in multidisciplinary care planning to identify and clarify patient needs, aiming for optimal outcomes.
      • Reviews and updates care plans based on changes in patient status.
      • Completes patient classification for assigned individuals as required.
    • Implements care plans according to identified needs.
      • Utilizes the Relationship-Based Care Professional Practice Model to guide interactions with patients, families, colleagues, and physicians.
      • Completes patient care assignments in line with established hospital policies and procedures.
      • Prioritizes nursing interventions based on patient needs.
      • Employs effective communication skills, presenting pertinent information using the SBAR format as appropriate.
      • Assists colleagues in delivering patient care as necessary.
