Job Title: Radio Frequency Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Radio Frequency Engineer to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. As a Radio Frequency Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the Navy's airborne Electronic Warfare Integrated Labs (EWIL) Integrated Product Team (IPT) onsite at Point Mugu, CA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute RF testing and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Analyze large amounts of test data and clearly report results and observations.
  • Maintain an up-to-date chamber, instruments, and RF test setup characteristics, identifying any limitations along with specifications on potential upgrades.
  • Plan and execute chamber configuration changes using team inputs.
  • Plan for upgrades and improvements to instruments, the chamber, and test setup.
  • Maintain inventory and calibration of all instruments and equipment required for chamber testing.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of related experience in RF test design, setup, and execution; data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • High competency in electromagnetic theory and practical application of RF test and measurement.
  • Experience with anechoic chamber and antenna characteristics/design.
  • Strong knowledge of RF measurement instruments and components such as network analyzers, spectrum/signal analyzers, signal generators, power meters, etc.
  • Strong knowledge in RF simulation: HFSS, CST, ADS, AWR, Sonnet Rings, Ansoft, Comsol, EZNEC, etc.
  • Experience with computer programming: C#, C++, Visual Basic, Java, JavaScript, R, Python, SQL.
  • BS (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field.
Preferred Skills:
  • Previous anechoic chamber facility maintenance and support experience.
  • Ability to adapt to and work with a dynamic team with a broad range of backgrounds and skills solving complex problems.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-starter, proactive, and pragmatic.
