About the Job:

ACRT, Inc. is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Project Manager to oversee civil construction work on site associated with site preparation for new substations and the expansion of existing stations.

This role involves installing E&S Controls, clearing, grading, fills and/or cuts, removal of unsuitable soils, and installation of suitable material. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for coordinating delivery of materials and equipment to be delivered on site, ensuring safe work practices, quality, and efficiency while meeting target dates.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including experience with SWPPP books and the ability to read civil construction drawings. Familiarity with forestry activities associated with new construction and future utility lines is also a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee civil construction work on site associated with site preparation for new substations and the expansion of existing stations
  • Install E&S Controls, clear, grade, fill, and/or cut as necessary
  • Remove unsuitable soils and install suitable material
  • Coordinate delivery of materials and equipment to be delivered on site
  • Ensure safe work practices, quality, and efficiency while meeting target dates
  • Monitor and assist with substation and forestry activities associated with new construction and future utility lines

Requirements:

  • 2-year degree in Construction Management, civil engineering, or closely related field
  • Virginia Responsible Land Disturber certification preferred
  • Sediment and Erosion certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including experience with SWPPP books and ability to read civil construction drawings
  • Familiarity with forestry activities associated with new construction and future utility lines
  • Ability to work independently in rugged terrain and inclement weather
  • Valid driver's license
