Job Summary

Pegasus Steel is seeking a highly skilled Beveler Welder-Fitter to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to metal fabrication, including beveling, welding, and cutting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and interpret work orders, prints, and instructions to plan and execute tasks.
  • Operate various metal fabrication equipment, including gas torches, secator track torches, hand grinders, and electric cutting/welding equipment.
  • Bevel and cut metal parts to precise specifications using various techniques and tools.
  • Repair and modify metal parts using welding techniques and equipment.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for welding and other metal fabrication processes.
  • Build up worn or defective surfaces using welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Layout metal parts according to customer drawings and specifications.
  • Use burning equipment to cut and shape metal to precise specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; three years of experience in welding or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 200 pounds independently and safely lift 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to pass forklift training and maintain current company forklift license.
  • Ability to read and speak English fluently.
  • Knowledge of the metric system and ability to work with measuring taps and calipers.
