Job Summary
At McDonough District Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy.

Collaborating with our interdisciplinary treatment team, the Occupational Therapist will provide treatment activities in functional pre-vocational and homemaking skills and activities of daily living to enable patients to become as independent as possible within the scope of their disability.


Responsibilities
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with physical disabilities, geriatrics, arthritis, cardiac, and stroke rehabilitation needs.
• Provide splinting experience and assist patients in developing functional skills for daily living.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication with patients, staff, and caregivers.

Requirements
• Graduate of an accredited program in Occupational Therapy.
• Licensure in Illinois or eligibility for licensure required.
• Certification by the Board of Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Association also required.
• Hospital experience in the position of Occupational Therapist preferred.
• Advanced postgraduate training desirable.

Preferred Qualifications
• Emphasis in physical disabilities, geriatrics consultation, arthritis, cardiac, and stroke rehabilitation.
• NDT and sensory integration background helpful.
• Splinting experience beneficial but not required.
