Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented General Plant Laborer to join our team at General Mills. As a General Plant Laborer, you will play a critical role in supporting our manufacturing operations, ensuring the highest quality products are produced while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support production packaging and processing operations, including sanitation and participation in startup, changeover, and shutdown of operating equipment.
  • Assist operators during bottlenecks or when production lines are shut down.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
  • Attend meetings and training as required.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred or two years of consistent job history.
  • All employees must go through a forklift certification course and are required to drive a forklift.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including: standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces.
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms.
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required.
  • Will be required to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions.
  • Will be required to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery.
  • Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment.
