About the Role

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team in providing high-quality care to our residents in a long-term care setting. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in delivering resident-centered care and daily living assistance to our residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents
  • Assist residents with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and providing psychosocial support
  • Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment
  • Provide range of motion and passive exercises to residents
  • Assist with food preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience for residents
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary
  • Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational
  • Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed
Requirements
  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
  • Minimum age of 16
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
  • Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
  • Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
