Parks and Recreation ProfessionalJoin the City of Kyle, TX team as a Parks and Recreation Professional. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to assist with programming, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the programs, events, and activities of the Recreation Division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning, development, and implementation of programs and events for the Recreation Division.
- Assist with Parks and Recreation Department programs, activities, community, and destination events.
- Assist in rentals, registrations, and events.
- Assist with promotional material, scheduling, and registration.
- Communicate with customers, contractors, participants, community members, and with City of Kyle employees via email, on the phone, and in person.
- Ability to utilize web-based software for sports management, rentals/reservations, and information for programs and events.
- Develop promotional material to promote department programs and events by using various marketing techniques and media releases.
- Assist the Recreation Manager with preparing, updating, and providing needed information to the citizens of the community.
- Attending staff, committee, and council meetings and giving presentations as needed.
- Assist with developing, conducting, and supervising programs and events for all ages.
- Manages concession and store sales operations and secure inventory.
- Maintains essential records, prepares reports for inventory, participation, and membership.
- Assist with accepting, receiving, and collecting payments.
- Demonstrates full knowledge of administrative tasks for the Parks and Recreation Department.
- Ensures City financial policies, procedures, and safety guidelines followed.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university or two years of college in Parks, Recreation and Leisure Studies or a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in recreation programming or closely related experience; progressive leadership experience in Municipal Parks and Recreation preferred.
- Ability to obtain further professional certifications related to Recreation such as but not limited to First Aid and CPR/AED or CPRP.
- Or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience which evidences a comprehensive knowledge of required job duties and expectations.
- Valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
