PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Operations group. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing business objectives, plans, and supporting company programs and policies.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and manage the work of the Operations group, leading projects and initiatives to drive business results.
- Coordinate and manage all operations functions to ensure the effective and reliable operation of the plant, meeting performance and compliance requirements.
- Responsible for plant operating performance and efficiency, preparing shift schedules, and scheduling plant performance testing.
- Maintain and enforce safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and safe work procedures, and collaborate with environmental, health, and safety representatives.
- Establish daily operating plans for electric power and thermal energy production, maintaining records and reporting plant performance as required.
- Support compliance with federal and state labor laws, environmental regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Develop and direct the implementation of operating procedures and plans to ensure optimum efficiency in operations, considering equipment capabilities, customer demands, and personnel requirements.
- Lead the Operations team, directing day-to-day activities, providing guidance, and making recommendations.
- Contribute to team employee performance reviews, flagging performance and personnel issues for resolution.
- Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum seven years of related power plant operations or maintenance experience.
- Minimum three years in people or functional management experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Ability to read and interpret written documents, including drawings, manuals, procedures, contracts, and financial reports.
- Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence, and manuals.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues and projects concurrently.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations affecting an electric generating facility.
- Thorough knowledge of power plant operations philosophy and processes.
- Comprehensive understanding of electric generating plant systems.
This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 15.00% of salary. Benefits include health care, retirement, paid time off, tuition assistance, paid short-term and long-term disability, and paid bereavement leave.
