Job SummaryThe Surgical Technologist facilitates patient care by assisting physicians and nursing staff before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role requires creating and maintaining a sterile field, providing instruments and supplies, and ensuring a smooth operation.
Key Responsibilities- Prepares rooms with necessary instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment.
- Assists the surgical team during operative procedures.
- Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and after terminal cleaning.
- Maintains and cares for equipment and supplies.
- Documents maintenance and repairs.
- Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
- Certified Surgical Technologist with NBSTSA (The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting).

The Surgery Unit (OR) is located on the first floor of Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital (VTHH). We care for pediatric and adult patients, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for our patients and staff.
